Kvernhusvågen lies a few kilometres south of Hopland farm. In the property records for 1667 we see that there have been two mills a Hopland farm. At the stream exiting from Langevatnet there are two mill-houses in a row, with a small difference in height, to let both mills use the same amount of water. It is also possible to run both mills separately. Around 1900 water channels in stone, slok, were built.
The Hopland mills were most easily reached by boat, but sometimes people walked there on foot, with food for those milling at the mill. Today you may follow a marked path from Litlelindås at Fosnstraumen. Both mill-houses with dams and water channels have been carefully conserved and restored.
